[if he's being honest with himself, he's still angry. accepting, but angry. so there's no music coming out of boys' 21 today, just silence. rui is curled up on the bed, reading, and waiting for a knock he's still not sure is going to come]

[ true to his word, not five minutes later there's a knock on your door ]

[he looks tired when he opens the door, a half-eaten apple in hand]

[oh good let's be tired together. he gestures at the bed, and then at the paper bag]

Apple?

Mm, that'd be nice, thank you.

[ he's even being nice enough to make these clunky boots go away before traipsing through your humble abode ]

[your politeness is appreciated, rui likes an undirtyish floor and also boots are inappropriate for bed. where he is going after he tosses you an apple. he'll just flop down on the mattress and take a bite of his own]

[ rubbing his apple on his shirt for a moment, and then he'll join you in the flopping and apple-munching

a quiet companion for the moment ]

[rui is not the most verbal of guys on a good day. today is not a good day. today is the kind of day where he'll put an arm under your neck and then lie there and stare at the ceiling]

[ jiu wu is generally quite verbal but he has his bouts of no words sometimes, too. this is one of those times, and he's going to use your shoulder as a headrest and chew quietly on this here apple instead ]

[that's good enough. rui will eat his apple and possibly play with jiu wu's hair a bit with the non-apple hand]

[ he definitely cannot complain; he's just shifting a little to situate himself a bit more comfortably against you

his apple is gone pretty quick, though--core and all ]

[the bag is still within reach]

You can have another. Middle's not really for eating though.

That's a dangerous thing to say to a guy with a black hole for a stomach.

[ that's not going to stop him from groping around for the bag and another one, though ]

[there's a fair number of apples in there. when rui finishes his own he reaches back to drop the core on the nightstand]

Not feeling that hungry. So it's fine.

Can I smoke?

[ he'll try not to eat all of your apples :< ]

[on the upside, he does seem to relax a little after the first drag]

[ relaxing is definitely good; you seem stressed ]

I don't mind.

[so stressed. but nicotine is great. he'll go back to petting your hair and occasionally tapping his cigarette over the ashtray on the nightstand]

[ he can handle headpets and this apple's being nibbled on much slower than the first one ]

[it's not until he finishes the cigarette that he says something again, at which point most of the rest of him has finally gone boneless and relaxed]
